Here come another hotel review and this time its for my trip to Jamaica!! I absolutely loved loved loved this trip and the Moon Palace Resort. One for the books!
Getting transportation was pretty easy. The Moon Palace had their own transportation from the airport to the hotel. Once you booked your stay you had to email or call their transportation department and they would get everything together for you. They asked me for the airline I was traveling in, the flight number and the time it got there. Later on they would email me a confirmation email with the information and the directions of what I needed to do when I got to the airport. Once you pass immigration you come to a hall where all vendors and hotel representatives are at. I went to the booth it told me and they just asked for my information, confirmed everything and then a really nice lady took me to the bus I needed to be at. Once I got on the bus the bus driver was super nice and he actually told me very interesting things of every town we passed by. He also told me about their culture. It was such a fascinating hour and a half drive to the resort. The scenery was gorgeous.

The resort we stayed at was called Moon Palace Resort. It is a 5 start hotel, one of the best ones in Jamaica. From the time I called their customer service center to my stay at the hotel the representatives were so nice to me and super friendly. Anyways, once I got dropped off at the hotel the bellman welcomed me with a flower, a wet towel and one of the ladies from inside brought me a super refreshing juice! As soon as you walk in you can see how luxurious this hotel is. Marble floors, amazing/ exotic fixtures, chairs (oh so comfy and modern), there were so many beautiful chandeliers and grand stair cases. On the first floor you can find the reception area, sitting area and it will help you get to any place you need: restaurant, pools and different rooms. The room I stayed in was a standard rooms, the decoration was simple but modern and went along with the hotel ambiance. We got the two queen beds and let me tell you the mattress was super comfortable, it was as if the bed was hugging you! I was so rested every day. The room was spacious and we had a nice view of the resort and the sunsets. Everything was amazing.

So the resort had various options on where to eat. They had a buffett, “grill”, dessert stand, sushi bar, Italian, Jerk chicken stand, bar grill and a hibachi grill. We tried 5 restaurants. Tried the buffett for breakfast and lunch, best decision ever. They had a variety of Jamaican and American food. The jerk chicken was delicious and I really appreciated the “make your own” mimosa station.
Quick tip: if you go to the buffet during breakfast, ask for a cup of the
Blue mountain coffee with a shot of their coffee rum liquor. The best!
My other favorite restaurant was the Grill, their hamburgers are super good and their jerk hot dog were huge and it had a great seasoning flavor. Lastly my ultime favorite ones was the Italian restaurant, I order their special; which was pasta with shrimp and a delicious tomato and vodka sauce. Before the main dish, they served us the most delicious parmesan cheese with a spicy oil, the best oil I’ve had. We also order tomato soup, which was a first for me and let me tell you I loved it! Now if you are a sweet tooth kind of person they have a pastry restaurant, they do the most amazing crepes I have had! (late night snack)

Besides getting drinks while we were taking the sun, my most favorite bar at this resort was the swim up bar by the buffet are. They had a great amount of seats and space. We went here the first day and it was amazing, we got a shot called penut butter jelly and though it might sound nasty it was the most delicious shot I’ve had. The next day we went there again and absolutely loved the bartenders. They were so fun and their drinks were phenomenal. One of the best bartenders we encounter during our stay, he did a drink that looks and tasted amazing, I don’t know what its called but ( see the picture below) . The music at this bar is also amazing, a little Jamaican music for the soul. After all we want to dive into the culture and not hear the same American music that we listen to every day.

These is definitely lots and lots of activities you could do inside Moon Palace. Besides the various pools and sitting areas to take the sun, they also have a club, bar, surfing pool and various water activities. I really wanted to try the surfing pool or do paddle boarding but I got a horrible sun BURN like never before I just couldn’t even move! But I would definitely give it a try when I go back. Like I said I only went for three days so my mindset was basically relax and have a good time. Taking walks on the beach at night and just relaxing by it in the morning was amazing.
Overall my stay at Moon Palace, has been one of the most amazing stays I have experienced. The staff was so nice and welcoming, the amenities were top of the line and the overall ambiance felt amazing. I went from May 9 to May 12 and when I go back I think these days would be perfect, not a lot of people but enough to have a good time. I don’t know how the service when its peek vacation months but the services during these days were top of the line! Literally felt like royalty.
Thank you to the Moon Palace Resort Staff for making my first Jamaica experience phenomenal! I can’t wait to go back! I would 100% recommend this resort for anyone traveling to Jamaica!
